What is a CVV/CVV2 number?

Card Verification Value (CVV) – The CVV number is 3-digit number displayed on the signature strip on the rear of the back of your debit/credit card. When the customer provides the merchant with the CVV code, this is proof that the customer actually holds the physical credit or debit card. This helps to keep both the merchant and the customer safe by reducing fraud. CVV are also known as CSC numbers (“Card Security Code“).

Card Verification Value 2 (CVV2) – same as CVV numbers, except that they have been generated by a second-generation process that makes them hard to “guess”, also known as Visa three-digit code.

If you cannot find any code on the back of your card, please check with the bank that issued your card.
